Our El Segundo Staircase Carpet Cleaning Process

Step 1: Deep Vacuum the Staircase

Step 2: Apply a High-pH Cleaning Solution

A high-pH carpet cleaner was applied to help break down the heavier soil and buildup in the carpet fibers. Selecting the right chemistry gave the later scrubbing and extraction steps a better chance of reaching the desired restoration.

Step 3: Deep Scrub the Carpet Fibers

The staircase carpeting was deeply scrubbed to work the cleaning solution through the fibers and loosen embedded contamination. This agitation was especially important on the higher-traffic areas of the stairs.

Step 4: Treat the Heavily Soiled Landing Areas

The invoice documents two small landing areas with heavy cat urine soiling. These areas were treated with OSR, flushed using a water claw, and followed with a bio-modifier enzyme treatment to address the contamination more directly.

Step 5: Hot Water Extraction With a Stair Wand

John finished the cleaning using the truck-mounted machine and a dedicated stair wand for hot water extraction. The combination of cleaning chemistry, scrubbing, heat, and extraction helped lift the remaining soil and restore the appearance of the staircase.
